Take a Before School Getaway

Posted by vpfsnews on August 6, 2009 at 9:36 AM

Like sands through the hourglass... so are the days before school starts!!

If you and the kids are looking back on your summer and you find yourself saying, "Geez, we really didn't do much;" it's not too late!  You still have time to squeeze in a last minute vacation and beat those back-to-school blues.

Here are a few pointers to help you plan a great and affordable trip:

1.  Visit ValuePlace.com to find a property in a city near you.  We're cleaner, more secure and more affordable than other major brands, and we have a kitchen!  Not eating out every meal = more $ for fun stuff!

2.  Check out the 10 Tips for an Affordable Family Vacation list on Kiplinger's.com for some great ideas on how to save cash while traveling with kids.

3.   When you select your vacation destination, visit that city's Visitor's Bureau.  Most post lists of free things to do and/or offer discounts to many tourist attractions.

4.  Travel safe.  Check out Value Place's tips on how to Stay & Play Safe.

Happy travels!  Be sure to tell us about your trip.

I have been staying at the Value Place Panama City, at 902 N. Tyndall Parkway, in Callaway/Panama City, Florida since June 5, 2009, and I feel very comfortable and safe there. There is lots of security there, the staff here is extremely nice, helpful, and makes you feel like you are number one. I have come to feel like this is my home here. It is in a great location...very near a Super Wal-Mart, Dollar Store, Radio Shack, Super Cuts, several pizza places, Regions Bank, Beef O'Brady & several other restaurants. The place is super clean and well maintain. I would recommend to anyone that this is the place to stay in the Callaway/Panama City area. My special thanks goes to Shelley and the Property Manager who work the office....both of the ladies are very special. Also, thanks goes the security & maintenance men and the housecleaning ladies. We stayed at the ValuePlace in Greenwood, IN the first week of August 2009. Finding an affordable hotel for my family to stay during a death in the family was crucial. Value Place went above and beyond our needs.

The room was new and clean. The kitchen area was adequate for our needs. The area was secure and we felt totally safe at this location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were eager to answer any questions or provide information needed for out-of-towners. Shannon at this location offered and provided a listing of parks nearby where we took our children for a break during a very stressful time for us.

I would definitely recommend ValuePlace as a family-friendly place for extended stays.
